Workshops: Cross-sector Partnering for Sustainable Development

16 Nov

Event Details

Recent consultation with members and stakeholders suggests a growing interest in cross-sector partnering. The Global Compact Network Australia is convening cross-sector partnership training workshops to build practical capacity to effectively collaborate and partner for sustainable development. These workshops will bring business, NGOs, government and academia together, to explore the ‘how to’ of partnering, using evidence-based and globally recognised approaches.

Partnership is critical for sustainable development, and a key focus of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) (so much so that the theme has its own SDG, Goal 17). However, all stakeholder groups have expressed challenges in relation to establishing and implementing effective partnerships with other sectors.

Cross-sector partnering is both a capability and a methodology. These workshops will explore the definition of partnership, types of collaboration, the partnering cycle, practical steps to effectively partner, and key principles to support overcoming common challenges.

The workshops will be facilitated and delivered by Ian Dixon, Principal, Dixon Partnering Solutions and Victoria Thom, Director, Think Impact, both accredited partnership brokers and trainers with The Partnership Brokers Association.

Participation

We are seeking EOIs from all sectors to participate in the workshops, so please get in touch to register your interest. If you work (or would like to work) with cross-sector partners, we also welcome EOIs in relation to their participation.
