WEBINAR | Reporting on the SDGs

04 Feb
2020

Online
4:30 pm - 5:30 pm

Event Details

Our planet faces significant environmental and social challenges. From climate change, to the loss of biodiversity and growing inequality. By doing business in a way that aligns long-term commercial strategies with care for people and the environment, companies can play a crucial role towards sustainable development.

The GRI Sustainability Reporting Standards are the leading global standards for organisations to report on economic, environmental and social impacts. They help organisations increase their transparency and communicate both their positive and negative impacts on sustainable development. By better understanding, managing and disclosing their impacts, companies can enhance strategic decision-making, reduce risks, identify business opportunities and strengthen stakeholder relationships.

As the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) become increasingly important for investors and other stakeholders, join the conversation and learn about the importance of quality reporting for your organisation, what tools and resources the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) provides, and how GRI is working closely with the United Nations Global Compact and the Global Compact Network Australia (GCNA) to help businesses integrate the SDGs into corporate reporting.

The webinar will address the following key points:

  • Sustainability reporting and its importance for businesses and sustainability
  • The growing focus towards the SDGs and aligning sustainability reporting to the SDGs

Speakers:

  • Manuel Meneses Namihira, Manager Corporate and Stakeholder Engagement, GRI
  • Corinne Schoch, Senior Advisor, GCNA

The Global Compact Network Australia is proud to work alongside the Global Reporting Initiative and will run a series of webinars over the course of the year to help companies navigate their way through reporting challenges typically associated with the Sustainable Development Goals.
