Partnership is a key focus of the Sustainable Development Goals (so much so that the theme has its own SDG, #17). However, while partnership and collaboration is regularly put forward as critical to moving the sustainability agenda and SDGs forward, we also hear from different stakeholder groups that effective partnering brings a range of challenges. Accordingly, as part of our Sustainable Development Leadership Group work, we will be running partnerships training workshops later this year, which will bring business, NGOs and government together to build capacity around collaboration and partnering.
In advance of those workshops, we are holding single-stakeholder Chatham House discussions to unpack some of the challenges (and opportunities) in building cross-sector partnerships, which will feed into an issues paper, which in turn will inform the multi-stakeholder workshops.
