Event Details

The 2018 Australian Dialogue on Business and Human Rights – convened by the Global Compact Network Australia and the Australian Human Rights Commission – will take place on 13 November in Sydney. For the fifth consecutive year, the Dialogue – Australia’s annual multi-sector, multi-stakeholder forum – will bring leaders together to drive the business and human rights agenda forward.

Recognising the momentum and growing expectations around Australian businesses preventing and addressing involvement in modern slavery in their own operations and supply chains, and the importance of situating this work within a broader human rights framework, the theme for this year’s Dialogue will be Embedding Human Rights in Global Supply Chains: Modern Slavery and Beyond.

Since 2014, the Dialogue has consistently achieved substantial engagement from business, investors, government, civil society and academia. This year’s Dialogue will support knowledge sharing between stakeholder groups to further Australian businesses’ capacity to both respect and promote human rights in their business operations and activities.

The event is kindly sponsored by KPMG.

The agenda is available here.

The summary and outcomes document is available here.
