About GCNA

Welcome to the Global Compact Network Australia

Welcome to the United Nations Global Compact Network Australia (UNGCNA). Formed initially as a steering committee in 2009 and 2010, the UNGCNA has transformed into a fully-fledged member based organisation providing a range of services, forums, collaboration and knowledge exchange across a broad spectrum of industries and interest groups.

The Australian Network was launched in Parliament House Canberra by Minister Nick Sherry, then Minister for Superannuation and Corporate Law and Executive Director of the UN Global Compact, Mr Georg Kell, Canberra in May 2009.

The primary purpose of Global Compact Network Australia (GCNA) is to offer practical help for organisations to integrate and operationalise the 10 Principles into their core business practices and to support the UN goals. It does so by providing a national and international platform for dialogue, learning and influence that aims to be inclusive, practical and leading edge.

The GCNA will work with Australian business signatories of the UN Global Compact to offer practical help for organisations to integrate and operationalise the Ten Principles into their business practices.

The local network gives an Australian voice to the UN Global Compact within our own cultural and business context and comprises businesses across many sectors. Signatories range from major international companies to some of Australia’s most energetic and entrepreneurial SMEs.

The primary purpose of the Australian Network is to offer practical help for organisations to integrate and operationalise the 10 Principles into their core business practices. It does so by providing a national and international platform for dialogue, learning and influence that aims to be inclusive, practical and leading edge.

Our primary goal is to work with members to embed the core Principles of the UNGC into every day business practice and strategy. We share knowledge, partner, network and deliver programs that enhance this aspiration.
